#KDMSMODELMEMORIES

In honor of the 20th anniversary of the #KimDawsonModelSearch, we have reached out to some of the past finalists and winners to share their favorite images and memories from their careers since they participated in the search.
1999 - Chad Rohde
"I've been fortunate enough to have worked with really great clients and traveled to some great locations, but I picked this photo because this test was important for me on several levels. I feel like this solidified a transition for me and my career path. I have been in the industry for a long time and to be able to start in my late teens and continue working into my late 30's is something I didn't foresee at an early age. I'm proud to be able to say that I've been in this profession and with this agency for over 18 years now. I'm so thankful for the opportunity!"

2005 - Ali Michael
“One of my favorite moments was when I opened @lanvinofficial during my first season. I never expected to be able to do runway at all - let alone being the first girl out at such an iconic show in Paris. It was very surreal and changed my career.”

2007 - R'el Dade
“It was a whirlwind of a day! I remember being told around 11am that morning that I had to catch a flight to Paris, because I was an exclusive in a couture show. I was so nervous, especially traveling overseas by myself for the first time, but it was so worth it. Definitely a moment to remember!”
2008 - Rachel Thomas
“This photo is meaningful to me because it was my first destination booking for @surfer_magazine#SwimsuitIssue! We were in Aruba for a week shooting and it was by far my favorite job. Everyday was so much fun! I booked the job with one of my best friends and we just got to shoot on the beach together and have the time of our lives!”

2009 - Heather Hausman
“I️ love this photo because it takes me back to an amazing adventure when I️ was able to travel and live in so many different countries!”

2009 - Kelly Gillespie
This image was shot during her first season walking #NewYorkFashionWeek for @MarcJacobs in 2013.
2011 - Kaylin Rogers
"This photo is special to me because it's from one of my first test shoots ever in New York. Every time I look back at this photo it reminds me of the crazy but fun road I ventured on from the day my 17 year old self took that picture, to where I am today and how far my career has come. It's still one of my favorites!"

2012 - Devin Way
"This image captured by @stevenvisneauphotographyand styled by @christinevisneau was “the first photo that made me feel like I wasn’t just my hair or personality. I remember thinking ‘Oh, I can actually do this. I don’t have to hide behind anything other than who I am.’ It was the first time in the modeling industry where I felt like being ‘just me’ was actually enough.”

2015 - Kate Woodman
“This photo is meaningful to me because it is from my very first test shoot when I was 16, by the amazing photographer Wade Livingston. Sadly, Wade passed away last year. I give him all the credit in helping me start my career. The pictures he took of me are very special and I will have them for a lifetime. So I thank him for that. I will always remember him.”

2004 - Chaise Mooty
“When I left the Dominican Republic after the @abercrombie shoot with @bruce_weber (which was my first major shoot), I had no idea if I would even be featured in the new campaign since there were so many models at the shoot. A few months later, one of my friends in NY texted me a picture of this billboard on 5th Ave. Needless to say, I was shocked. I was even more shocked to find out that this shot and a few others were being used for similar billboards all over the world."

2014 - Colby Brittain
"Pictured here is his first major campaign shot in 2015 for @aeropostalewhich appeared in #TimeSquare"

2009- Makayla Harmon
“these images stand out as the epitome of my trip to Australia, the beauty and artistic vision behind the photographs are inspiring. The location brought so much inspiration and life to the photographs and it was such a joy to be able to shoot with so many talented people in such an amazing place.”
2007 - Clara Settje
“There are so many standout memories in my time modeling, but I can still remember the thrill of seeing my first big magazine cover on the shelves. Not only that, but it was also my first time working with a primarily female team. Seeing so much beauty and inspiration coming from those women really influenced me and turned those dreamy photos into a cover story.”
